Homeowner Solutions

Picture
All of us, especially those who live around the pond or in the tributary area (north and west of the pond), have an impact.  Here's what you can do to reduce the flow of chemicals above and below ground into our pond:

1.  Pump out your septic system once every three years.

2.  Plant a Cape-friendly landscape.

3.  Refrain from using fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides.

4. Consider installing an Innovative / Alternative (“I/A”) Phosphorus-Reducing Septic System.

5. Consider installing  a urine diverting toilet or urinal, composting toilet or incineration toilet.
