Homeowner Solutions

Picture
All of us, especially those who live around the pond or in the tributary area (north and west of the pond), have an impact.  Here's what you can do:

1.  ATTEND BARNSTABLE TOWN COUNCIL MEETINGS TO REMIND TOWN OFFICIALS OF THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO ADDRESS THE HEALTH OF OUR PONDS.
Click HERE for the meeting schedule.

2.  Pump out your septic system once every three years.

3.  Plant a Cape-friendly landscape.

4.  Refrain from using fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides.

5. Consider installing an Innovative / Alternative (“I/A”) Phosphorus-Reducing Septic System.

6. Consider installing  a urine diverting toilet or urinal, composting toilet or incineration toilet.
