Friends of Long Pond Marstons Mills volunteers assist with deploymnet of Floating Treatment Wetlands pilot program on May 7, 2024. Monthly monitoring occurring. Results will be available at the end of 2 growing seasons (Fall 2025.)

May 2024: 500 sq.ft. of Floating Treatment Wetlands deployed at north end of Long Pond. This is a 2-year pilot program overseen by the Town of Barnstable with support from Friends of Long Pond MM.
July 2023: A Notice of Intent for the deployment of Floating Treatment Wetlands was filed with the Barnstable Conservation Commission. A Public Hearing was held on 7/18 and the project was approved. Bidding, contracting, and permitting follows.
May 2023: Funding for Floating Treatment Wetlands was approved by the Barnstable Town Council.
December 2022: The Town presented a summary of SMAST's Diagnostic Assessment and Management Plan for Long Pond.
